Meet Helen
It started on a visit to a shepherd.
While the humans talked, the dogs did what dogs do best — they found the good spot. A pile of wool, freshly shorn, headed for the skip. They didn't deliberate. They got in, curled up, and switched off.
Nobody trained them to do that. Wool breathes, holds warmth without trapping it, and doesn't turn into a hot, synthetic sweatbox by hour two. They just knew good material when they felt it — which is more than I can say for most of the pet aisle.
Because here's the bit that actually annoys me: shepherds pay to have their sheep sheared, and the wool still ends up binned by the tonne — nobody wants it, not even for free. Meanwhile we manufacture, ship and sell a synthetic bed that goes flat, matted and sad within two years — and call that progress.
One of those materials was already perfect. We just had to stop throwing it away.
People have told me I'm brave for the number of directions I've taken in life — "how brave, I could never." I don't feel brave. I just don't trust anything until I've tried it myself, including, apparently, sheep.
So HELEN WELLS isn't about reinventing wool — it's about refusing to waste the good stuff, and giving your dog somewhere better to disappear into getting a proper nap.

Wolle ist für uns kein Trend. Sie ist der Anfang unserer Geschichte.
Seit Generationen arbeiten Schäfer mit einem Material, das natürlich, reichlich vorhanden und auf leise Weise nützlich ist. Frisch geschorene Wolle wärmt, atmet und fühlt sich vertraut an – und viele Hunde scheinen genau das ganz ohne Erklärung zu verstehen. Dort, wo Schafe, Ställe und Arbeitshunde seit jeher zusammengehören, suchen sich Hunde immer wieder Wolle als Platz zum Niederlassen, Einrollen und Ruhen.
Diese Beobachtung hat uns nicht losgelassen.
Was wäre, wenn ein Hundebett nicht mit Schaumstoff, synthetischer Füllung oder wechselnden Trends beginnt – sondern mit einer natürlichen Ressource, auf die Hunde instinktiv reagieren?
