ANIMAL WELFARE
Ever heard of the WORLD ORGANIZATION FOR ANIMAL HEALTH (OIE)?
It is an international organization responsible for setting up standards for animal health and welfare.
The wool producing countries (Norway, South Africa, United Kingdom, USA, Uruguay, australia, New Zealand, Argentina) have set of animal welfare laws which are bound to uphold.
The OIE also has defined the "FIVE FREEDOMS" for the care of animals:
1 - Freedom from hunger, malnutrition & thirst
2 - Freedom from fear & distress
3 - Freedom from physical & thermal discomfort
4 - Freedom from pain, injury & desease
5 - Freedom to express normal patterns of behaviour
