Caring for your SHEEP FUR & DONUT

Congrats – you’ve brought a real natural product into your home! To keep your sheepskin or donut beautiful for years, just follow these simple (and fun) rules:

Cleaning

1. Less is more!

Your sheepskin is basically self-cleaning. Its dense wool and natural lanolin take care of most of the work. Don’t overbrush – too much brushing makes it thin & fluffy (not in a good way).

2. Air it out

Once a month, take it outside, give it a good shake – that’s it. Fresh as new.

3. Brushing? Yes, but gently!

If you do brush, keep it rare (every 2-3 months) and gentle – ideally with our new brush with wooden pins. It’s fur-friendly and barely pulls out any hairs.

4. Stains? Stay cool!

Let stains dry, then gently brush them out or dab with a slightly damp cloth. No baths, no washing machine – your sheepskin loves staying natural.

5. Oops – Pee Happens!

No worries – here’s what to do:

  • Act fast: Blot up as much liquid as you can with paper towels.
  • Dab gently: Use a slightly damp cloth with lukewarm water to clean the spot.
  • Air dry: Let it dry naturally – no heaters, no hairdryers.
  • Optional: For stronger smells, use a drop of wool detergent in the water, then wipe again with plain water.

Important: Don’t rub, don’t soak, and skip the chemicals – your sheepskin will thank you.

6. Storage

Skip the plastic bags – sheepskins like to breathe. Store in a dry, airy place.

Bottom line:
Your sheepskin doesn’t need constant attention. Treat it less like a Persian rug and more like a natural product: do little, enjoy a lot.
